When you tick "Resize columns", then the affected fields within list boxes will change their width according to the new picture.
This will assure that all your values will show without truncation, and your user don't need to manually resize the column to see the data. However, less columns will be visible at the same time. See the Browse example.
This option only works with browse list boxes.
